At just 14, she found herself in the heart of a buzzing salon every weekend, shampooing hair for one of the city’s most sought-after stylists. That experience wasn’t just about learning the ropes; it ignited a lifelong passion. Fueled by creativity and a deep-rooted desire to uplift others, Pearl joined her high school's cosmetology program and earned her license shortly after graduation.

As her hands shaped styles, her spirit shaped dreams. Pearl quickly rose to become a go-to stylist known not only for her trendsetting techniques but also her warmth, energy, and authenticity. Her chair became a sanctuary—a place of transformation and joy. But Pearl wasn’t content with just styling hair; she envisioned products that truly delivered. In 2019, she introduced her first innovation: the Growth & Shine Oil. It wasn’t just a product launch—it was the birth of Black P Beauty.

That same year, life took an unexpected turn. After relocating to Dallas to grow her brand, Pearl was involved in a devastating car accident that resulted in a brain injury, memory loss, and lasting nerve issues. But if you know Pearl, you know her spirit is unshakable. Rather than let the trauma define her, she transformed pain into purpose. Her recovery journey became her fuel, propelling her deeper into her mission.

Black P Beauty is more than a beauty brand—it’s a movement built from joy, resilience, and raw truth. Inspired by moments of deep sisterhood—like an unforgettable girls' trip filled with laughter and freedom—Pearl crafts every product to bottle that same energy. She believes beauty should feel like a hug from your favorite people: nurturing, uplifting, and real.

Pearl's journey became even more personal as she entered her 30s and began battling visible signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, and dry skin, especially on her hands. Diagnosed with dermatophagia over two decades ago, Pearl faced skin challenges that left her searching for solutions that truly worked. Not finding what she needed in stores, she began creating them herself.

Every Black P Beauty product is a labor of love and intention. Pearl personally tests all formulations for 6 to 18 months on herself and trusted users before releasing them to the community. Her standard? If it’s not good enough for her, it’s not good enough for you. And she holds firm to one belief: quality personal care and beauty products shouldn't cost the same as your rent.
